Onklen

The pictures with this post are from my last weekend in New York, and a little goodbye shinndig that I had. Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for these pics-- they are my dad"'s. Soon enough I will have some pictures of my own to post. I am going to get a new digital camera in the next week. I have been in Seoul for over a week now, and it is starting to feel a little more comfortable. I moved into my apartment on Monday, so it was really nice to finally unpack. My apartment is a studio, and is a pretty average size. I am told it"'s pretty big for Seoul, though. There are a couple things I Read More

Well this seems to work. After my Week in New York, I"'m now on the road in New England. NY was terrific. I did all the tourist things and by the end of the week was a dab hand with the subway and felt like a local. Highlight for meandnbsp;wasGrand Central Station.andnbsp;Took the train out of Penn station To Hartford, Connecticut on Thursday and the pace changed. People very friendly. Had a long chat with a local historian in the library in Stockbridge, Mass. today. She didn"'t know how the townandnbsp;got the name. There are no apparent links back to the UK. Anyway, driving round New England till Thursday next. Should hit Salem tomorrow. Trees are on the turn, but Read More

Soren Marl - The Irish guy
22/09/07 andnbsp; Just after arriving in Arequipa, which is the 2nd largest city of Peru with over 1 million people. My trip over was quite adventurous. In Dublin Airport they told me that I would not be allowed travel as I had no return flight, making me think that my trip was about to take a quick end. Luckily the agents of Continental Airlines had made a mistake. Once on the airplane I made full use of the onboard entertainment system. After 7 hours of Shrek and co I was happy to get some land under my feet again. Once in Newark Int. Airport in New Jersey USA I made a rush for customs as I had 90mins to make Read More

Jane Slaughter - Jane in China
When I used to jog and then power-walk, before my knees said no, I noticed that I still would get slightly winded going up a long flight of stairs. These days, I climb 42 stairs to my apartment, several times a day; 75 steps to my office; and probably 75 to one of my classrooms. I think Im noticing a training effect already. Sure to dissipate when I return to no-walk Detroit. andnbsp; Im going to Yangshuo as I mentioned earlier, leaving Sunday night. The schedule is definitely intended for college students, not me.. Leave 9 pm,, arrive 4 or 5 am and take a boat ride to see the sunrise (beautiful river). Then a hike on a mountain. Lunch Read More
