01 Sep 2008 Best laid plans......BMW dealer took a 3 day weekend, s o l until tues. Rented a truck from Enterprise (thank you Andrew). Spent yesterday running around, and resting, didn"'t reralize how exhuasted I was! Today took a drive to Seward, then a boat ride out to the glaciers, saw a couple of Eagles, some sea lions, a puffin, and lots of rain and ruff seas. Actually didn"'t mind driving =). Heading to Denali in the morning. Hopefully pictures tomm. hoping to head south tues.

29 Aug 2008 Ok, it"'s a new day, and I"'m feed, watered, and rested, so a little more than last nights 1 liner. =) Yesterday was a long wet day in the saddle, but worth every minute of it! Frank and I had the pleasure of riding through Mother Natures color pallet yesterday, all of BC andamp; YT have been pretty, but yesterday was magnificent! We left Whitehorse in rain gear, and didn"'t get out of "'em until we hit the Alaskan border and SUNSHINE! 28 Aug 2008 Another day of rain gear, but well worth it! We made Whitehorse YK today from Watson Lake YK, one more day, and we should be in Tok AK. I notice the farther north we get, the worse the roads are, and that most everyone is heading SOUTH! In fact, the only people we saw traveling north, were road crews! Looking forward to Anchorage, and taking a couple day train ride, it will be nice to give the butt a rest!

26 Aug 2008 Ehhh, still in BC ;) Tuesday morning"' and the destinition today is Watson Lake. Traveled from Prince George to Iskut yesterday, about 550 miles. Didn"'t think it could get any better, but the farther north we go, it just gets prettier and prettier! Traveling on the 37 highway, and you better keep tabs of the fuel gauge, as Frank will attest. Also need to keep a eye out for the bear.......actually lost count of all the bear we saw, the mama bear with her two cubs stand out though! andnbsp;Didn"'t realize how remote this area was until we got to were we thought weandnbsp;were staying, and were informed that we were actually stayingandnbsp;161 kh ahead........no problem, dinner Read More

And as for the rain dance...maybe you should have purchased a rain stick from the Indian as well =) . Looks like you two are living large on your vacation and don\'t have to eat wild berries like the bears do. stay warm, and travel safe. Just got back from ireland yesterday...today will involve doing research for farms where I can go horseback riding and (just like you) explore the wilderness. My next journey will be riding on horse power consisting of four legs...true horse power that is that isn\'t necessarily under the hood =) enjoy your adventure Dad and Mark!!! ich liebe dich Vater, vermisse dich!

22 Aug 2008 It must be vacation, only traveled about 30 miles today, and I"'m totally good with it! Got a late go of it, found the trail, and flat wore our selfs out in the span of about 20 miles off road. Chatted up a local on a XL, and have a game plan for finding the good part of the trail- none of its bad, just slow going due to cattle gates that have to be opened and then closed. A bad wind storm last week blew down a mess of trees, and they have yet to be cleared, on the bright side, got to practice log jumping! =) didn"'t know it was possible to sweet in the Read More

20 Aug 2008 Its as typical WA morning, overcast, roads are wet and they have slight growth of moss, not the type of green I want to see! Mark of course is flying thru the turns, and I"'m just putting along. Having recently spent 7 days with a American Indian, I learned how to do a rain dance, prior to my leaving this morn. I was in the garage alone doing the Indian rain dance, knowing fully I don"'t know how to dance.@ this point I was hoping that reverse psych would work, in reality the dance would have the opposite effect. Cloudy most of the day, and put my rain suit on, but it never rained! My lucky day Read More

20 Aug 2008 Day one is on the books! Only 175 miles traveled, but what miles! The scenary has been beyond description. The day started with a little practice repacking of the bikes....seems Canadan customes wanted to know just how much stuff could be packed on a motorcycle, they were nice enough to not repack it, they did commend us on our packing skills you know ehh, I have know idea how you got all that on there . The day has mostly been spent off road, with very little outside world to bother us. Enjoying a cold one in Princeton BC. A hot meal, a clean room, and a fresh start tommorow! Until then....... 18 Aug 2008 Frank and I are in Blain @ casa Entin (such a great place) preping the bikes and packing. Weather is hot and humid w/scattered showers. Tommorow is RandR, then on the trail early tues. Looks the first leg of the trip will be off road, if your interested, google Kettle Valley Railroad trail. I don"'t know about Frank, but it is starting to sink in.....we"'re headed to Alaska on motorcycles! Until then.......Cheers from the road!
